Berea wants to make an impact for the Kingdom of God. Find something to get involved in!
Berea has been a part of a yearly mission trip to El Salvador since 2007. Butch and Vona Reed help to lead this effort, along with many other congregations in our area.
Sneedville, Tennessee is located in Hancock County which is one of the poorest counties in the United States. Over the years, Berea has sent teams to work on many different kinds of projects. Our goal is to meet the physical needs of citizens so that we can meet their spiritual needs as well. Greg Armstrong is someone who is very knowledgeable and involved in this work and this summer, our own Courtney Petty is helping to lead a month long mission to provide a Christian Day Camp for the children there.
Berea has been a part of this ministry for the last couple of years. Compassionate Hands is an emergency shelter held at Wilson County churches during the winter months each year. The participating congregations host 6-8 men one night per week for these 15 weeks.
Local Service Opportunities
Berea also participates in service projects throughout the year in the community. From working at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Nashville to visiting seniors in our nursing homes, we want our teens to be involved in serving others.
Once a month, those who contact the church with financial or food needs meet with Brent Pruitt and the Benevolence Team. Many members help to keep the food pantry stocked up to help meet the hunger needs of Wilson County.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer Berea hosts a Vacation Bible School designed to reach out to our younger students as well as their friends and young families in our area. This is certainly one of our signature events of the year and a great, easy way to invite families to visit our church.
